The Circle Ranch is more than just a place to live for foster children and families in North Alabama. It is a community of faith, hope, and love that strives to make a positive difference in the lives of children who have experienced trauma, neglect, or abuse. Our mission is to provide a stable, supportive, and Christ-centered environment for these children and their foster families, as well as to equip and empower them for a successful future. We believe that every child deserves a chance to grow up in a family environment that reflects the love of God.

Prior to becoming The Circle Ranch, the property was originally developed by the Alabama Sheriff’s Association to serve as the second facility in the state for juvenile delinquent children.  This particular property was known as the Sheriff’s Boys Ranch.  Construction on the property began in the late 1960’s and eventually resulted in 3 large, dormitory-style residences, a gym, a director’s residence, an administration building, and a chapel.  The Sheriff’s Association hired a site director and house parents for each home. 

 

We started the Circle Ranch in 2016 as a non-profit Christian outreach ministry with a vision to serve the most vulnerable children in our society. We believe that every child deserves a family that can offer them unconditional love, acceptance, and guidance. That’s why we partner with qualified and experienced foster families who share our passion and values, and who are willing to open their hearts and homes to more children in need. We provide them with spacious and comfortable housing on our 40-acre property, where they can live together as a blended family of biological, adopted, and foster children.

 

One of the unique features of the Circle Ranch is that we can accommodate sibling groups of two or more children who would otherwise be separated in the foster care system. We know how important it is for siblings to stay together, especially when they have already lost so much. By keeping them together, we help them preserve their bond, their identity, and their sense of belonging. We also help them heal from their past wounds and prepare them for their future goals.

 

The Circle Ranch is not only a home for our foster families, but also a hub for other foster, adoptive, or kinship families in North Alabama. We host free community events throughout the year, such as fall festivals, Easter egg hunts, and summer picnics, where these families can enjoy a day of fun, fellowship, food, and networking. We also offer training sessions, support groups, counseling services, and mentoring programs for these families to help them grow in their faith and skills as foster parents. Our aim is to create a network of support and resources for all the families who are involved in this noble and challenging calling.
